Over the course of its 7-season run, Yamaska became one of Quebec’s most popular TV shows. Every season, the series’ supporting digital components were designed and deployed by Les Affranchis within a transmedia strategy. In fact, they were even defined before the script was written and included an impressive array of additional content!
Among the many initiatives deployed over the years, special mention must be made of the workout mobile app titled En forme avec Yamaska. It allowed users to run or walk in the company of their favourite characters from the show. It followed the season’s dramatic storylines and even played a part in the show itself. The idea was taken even further with Yamaska marche pour la vie, a suicide prevention awareness walk inspired by one of the show’s protagonists. A website was also created and 5,000 fans registered to walk with the entire Yamaska crew!
Mystère sur le plateau was an interactive investigation game divided into four episodes. It was created with the show’s actors filmed in front of a green screen and also featured a 3D reproduction of TVA’s studios!
Finally, the Fan de Yamaska quiz, broadcast live online after every episode, was a series of six webisodes designed to find the show’s biggest fan.
